1/20/14 Hello Kitty, minions and betty boop

Mi familia!!!

This week was so great! Yesterday we went to contact a hermana we met on the bus, norma, and we found her and her husband and her husband is awesome! super excited about the gospel and learning more. It was so cool how receptive he was and how much god means to him in his life. It is interesting to compare him and his wife, who are so willing to let christ change them compared to others who are kinda stuck in a state of comfort and want to know the truth but aren't willing to change. Be willing to change, my family, let Christ in and let Him mold you into something magnificent!!! Let Him heal you, 3 nefi 9:13...
Today we served a menos activa cleaning her walls with brooms... it was pretty interesting... There has been a minion circus in town and cars driving around playing the minion laugh and their songs from despicable me every where... its pretty funny... and also, you guys are the greatest blessing in my life.
I love you all more than anything!!

1/13/14 I Love Church!

Me familia!!!

First off I want to say that Church is the best!! I have realized the importance of going to church every sunday and i am so grateful it was a priority every sunday to go to Church. It really is just the spiritual strength I need to keep going every week. I love church! Also, it has been so cool to see the change the gospel makes in people. one of our converts when i first met him he seemed really quiet and inverted but now when i see him with his family he seems so happy and I am so glad that I got to be a little part in that. This same family is planning on being sealed in the temple in a year and I am so happy for that too. I just think of you guys and how glad I am that we are eternal and I am so happy and I am glad another family will be able to do that too!!

So Hermana andrade got changed to another area today so we are back down to 2 again. she was awesome, i will miss her. there is another gringo missionary in our ward now from utah too.

I just want to bear my testimony to you guys,

I know this church is true!! I know it! I know that christ is my redeemer and through Him and His atonement I can become the best I can be. I know that only through Christ can I become something so much better than myself. I know He lives!!

I love you guys so much!

Bien Blanca: January 6, 2014

Hi Familia!!!

It has been kind of crazy! This week we had divisions with the compacitadoras and those went well. I was with Hna. Lopez and we were in a members house and she told me to sing and so I sang "I'll go where you want me to go" and then she said, "the americanos elderes always have beautiful voices"... what? was my voice not beautiful??? It was funny, she later said that my voice was beautiful too... funny. and they said i was very white...

We had a baptism for Oscar this week and it was super great!! I love baptisms :).

We got a new comp today so we are a threesome. Hna. Andande is in her last month of her mission and I am excited to serve with her!!

Well, thats about it for this week. The work is great.

Love you!!

Miracles: December 16, 2013

Hola Familia!!
This week has been good. this week my companion has helped me to realize that there are miracles everywhere in my mission: the people, the food, the language, the spirit, our house. all that I have is a miracle, all that I have been blessed with is a miracle, all that I am learning is a miracle. One of the greatest miracles, though, that I have realized a lot more as I have been here in Mexico is the miracle of my familia.

This week it was a miracle to see a little old lady come up to us and want to talk to us, her name is victoria, and she said she will be baptized!!! It was a miracle! It was interesting though to compare it to a similar experience where a little old lady came up to us and didn{t want to hear the gospel, she was a jehovas witness, and I know I don{t know the language super well but what she was saying was super duper confusing. It was interesting for me to see the comfort the gospel could bring to someone and the confusion that can happen without the gospel. I am so thankful for the gospel in my life.

Our ward is super great with working with us in the work and I encourage you guys to find ways to be involved in the missionary work. I know it will bless you and the investigators very much and it will definately bless the missionaries! I love the our ward here!!
I am trying to recognize the miracles of everyday better and I encourage you guys to do the same, the Lord truly is in the details!!

A Marvelous Work and a Wonder: December 2, 2013

There is so much to say about my first week here.. where to start... when <i first got here and met the mission pres and his wife and we went to there house i really just felt like home...(they speak english) the first thing that was different here was the crazy driving... they get a lot closer to eachother here in mexico.
my companion is hermana garcia and she is so awesome, she wants to work really hard which is really good for me because i want to do the same. she doesn{t speak a ton of english but i think she speaks more english than i do spanish..

my house is good... some cucarachas and mouse poop but i cleaned it really well today. the food has been great, i actually have really liked everyting. thanksgiving was good too, i got homemade french fries... so good!!! they don't really make a big deal of it though here. our main transportation is the bus and the first time i got on it it was like the bus from harry potter but i am getting more used to it. the weather is good, in the morning and night it gets a bit nippy and in the middle of the day it gets hot so it's good.

I had an alma the younger experience... we ate lunch with a member and after i figured out how this members husband is dumb and it just really hit me and i just couldn't stop crying about it, it was so sad to me, and we had a lesson to teach, i couldn't go in there crying!!! but then we had this lesson and it was with a man named daniel and his wife jessika(she is inactive) and he knows english which was nice... anyways... i invited him to be baptized and he said yes!!! it was amazing!!! i was so happy... it was amazing to me how it could just switch over like that... Daniel is really cool and we taught him again last night and he just really understands how the spirit works and it all makes sense to him... he is really awesome!!

The language is coming bit by bit... i can understand pretty well when we talk about gospel things because those are the words i know but everything else is hard to understand... pero esta bien!! Siempre!!! people tell me jokes and i don't think i understand their sense of humor yet...
could i ask some specific prayers from you guys....

we have a recent convert that we spend a lot of time with named Salvador and he is super great, and another family we spend a lot of time with is the Espiritus... great names huh???!!

I really love being able to represent christ! Sunday was the best and i understood a lot and it was fast and testimony meeting and as soon as the sacrament was over, the stand was filled with people young and old who wanted to share there testimonies, it was awesome!!! my ward is really great and later i had the opportunity to ask all of them to pray for missionary experiences and <i told them how powerful their testimonies were and that was really cool for me.
I love you all more than anything!! i hope you have a wonderful week!!!
